Day 1: NEGOMBO – SIGIRIYA

At the airport you will be greeted by your driver who will take you to the hub of the cultural triangle, the town of Habarana. On the way you will have the opportunity to taste the famous King Coconut, visit a fruit plantation and finally the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, which houses the abandoned and the wounded elephants. Here you can watch them been fed and bathed. After lunch, continue to the town of Sigiriya, within Sri Lanka’s rich cultural triangle.

In the afternoon we visit the rock fortress of Sigiriya – a 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky”, a UNESCO world heritage. Adorning a palace on top of this large rock it is a must see in Sri Lanka. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 2 & 3 : SIGIRIYA – TRINCOMALEE

After breakfast proceed to Trincomalee. Trincomalee houses one of the largest natural harbours in the world. It remains an amazing multicultural town with roots dating back to Marco Polo. Trincomalee is one of the main centers of Tamil speaking cultur on the island and has the largest Dutch Fort in Sri Lanka.

We will do an excursion to Pigeon Island which is Sri Lanka’s 17th national wildlife park. Named after the Rock Pigeon that colonized the island, it has some of the best coral sites in Sri Lanka. We will also go for whale watching and visit the beautiful coral and ornamental fish collection. During the rest of oyur time you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, go surfing, scuba diving or snorkeling. 2 nights in Trincomelee.

Day 4 : TRINCOMALEE– POLONNARUWA – NEGOMBO

Leave Trincomalee to one of the better kept ruins of ancient Ceylon – the UNESCO World Heritage City of Polonnaruwa, which was the medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th – 13th century A.D. In the afternoon we will proceed back to your hotel in Negombo or the airport.
